Bed & Breakfast 't Speelhuys has 2 rooms and is located on the attractive tree-lined Speelhuislaan, a 5-minute walk from the historic center of Breda and 300 meters from Breda train station.
The owners, Aagje and Robert, have created a B&B in their beautiful 1920s mansion with a great sense of atmosphere, art, and culture, where you can enjoy a wonderful stay.
The long corridors with beautiful art and objects, high ceilings, and panel doors make it feel a bit like a French boutique hotel. An extensive breakfast is available on request.
This exceptionally nice bed & breakfast with private patio balcony and city view has 1 bedroom, a living room with complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a well-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator and an oven/microwave combination, and 1 spacious bathroom with a rain shower and toilet. Clean towels and bed linen are included.
If you come to stay with 2 people, the living room/bedroom, the patio balcony, and the luxurious bathroom are private. If you come with 3 or 4 people (for example, together with friends or with your children), the beautiful Muze room with 2 extra beds will be opened.
The living room, bathroom, and patio balcony are then shared by the guests present.
The specific history of the Belcrum district, in which this Bed & Breakfast is located, has been creatively depicted by the owners.
For example, Prince Filips Willem van Nassau (ancestor of the present king of the Netherlands) had a hunting castle by the name ‘t Speelhuys’ built in 1618 after which this B&B was named. Around this castle, a star forest was created with eight avenues, of which the Speelhuislaan, with a length of 750 meters, is still a remnant.
This Princely country house is no longer there, but anyone who comes to stay at B&B 't Speelhuys will, as a guest, get an insight into this unique piece of history.
