I’m an artist and designer, and this apartment is actually one of my artworks — developed and shaped over several years with love, detail, and curiosity. My focus has always been: “How will our guests feel?” I spent two years sketching and planning before we even started building our boathouse. Each winter, I change something. A new design. Mausund is a small island village at the very edge of the Norwegian coast — where the horizon meets the open sea, and life follows the rhythm of wind and weather. With no road connection to the mainland, the island is reached by ferry. Here, you’re never far from anything: the local store, restaurants, the school, a swimming hall — and several traditional fishing piers — all within walking distance. Around 230 people live here in winter, but in summer, the island comes alive with visitors, boats, and bright evenings that seem to never end. It’s peaceful, yet wild.
