The place is popular both in summer and winter. In summer, it is the perfect base for exploring the world-famous fjords and mountains in the area, including Geiranger, Hellesylt, Ljøen Viewpoint, Trollstigen, and Ålesund. The gondola right next to the cabin takes you to the top of the mountain, and Loen Skylift is also a popular attraction. For the active traveler, there are endless hiking options, ranging from 1-hour walks to 10-hour adventures.
