The fully equipped kitchen is connected to the dining area and offers the same incredible view as the rest of the house. Several of the wooden tables inside are handcrafted by the owner — a special detail guests love. Outside, a wrap-around terrace allows you to enjoy the scenery from every angle. If the wind comes from one side, simply move to the other — the view is always breathtaking.

On clear nights during the northern lights season, you can often see the aurora dancing across the sky — right from the cabin. A beautiful beach and cozy bonfire spot just a 5-minute walk away — turn right when you walk down the hill from the cabin. As hosts, we love sharing our cabin with guests from all over the world. The cabin is located in peaceful surroundings in Kræmmervika, just outside the fishing village of Ballstad — one of the oldest and most authentic fishing villages in Lofoten. It’s only a few minutes by car to Ballstad, where you’ll find Joker Ballstad (Fryseriveien 1) for grocery shopping, as well as some of the best restaurants in the region: • Kræmmervika Havn Restaurant – very close to the cabin, with a beautiful harbour view and excellent seafood. • Hattvika Lodge Restaurant – known for fine dining based on local ingredients. • Lofoten Food Studio – for a unique food experience by reservation only. You’ll also find a Bunnpris grocery store in Gravdal, and several shops and services in Leknes (about 15 minutes by car), including larger supermarkets, pharmacy, and gas stations. Both Rema 1000 and Bunnpris in Leknes are open on Sundays, which is very convenient if you arrive during the weekend. There are charging stations for electric cars in Ballstad, Gravdal and Leknes. If you enjoy the outdoors, there are wonderful hiking trails nearby. From the cabin you can easily reach Ballstadheia and Nonstinden, both offering spectacular panoramic views. You can also join local tours for fishing, kayaking, or orca safaris from Ballstad harbour. If you’re visiting Leknes, there are also several good places to eat: • Makalaus – varied menu with pasta, burgers and local fish dishes. • Digg Lofoten – cosy place in the centre, famous for fish & chips and local food. • Sakura Lofoten – sushi and Asian dishes. • Restaurant Bevares (at Scandic Leknes) – à la carte with local ingredients. • Lofoten Seafood Restaurant (Mortsund) – exclusive seafood experience by the sea.
