Nestled about 10 meters above the forest floor, Faråsen Tretoppgård offers a pair of enchanting treetop cabins—Skogro and Mjøsgløtt—perfectly perched in an earthy, tranquil setting near Brumunddal and Lake Mjøsa. Each cozy cabin spans approximately 22 m², with a well-insulated layout that includes a ground-floor living room/kitchen, bathroom with shower and toilet, and a skylit bedroom. Upstairs, six additional beds beneath skylights await 12 meters high—together offering comfortable accommodation for up to eight guests. The cabins surround you with nature at every turn. Enjoy your morning coffee on the terrace amid birds and squirrels, cozy up in a gapahuk (forest shelter), or relax by the pond—complete with rowing boats—all just steps away. Trails for hiking and cross-country skiing start right at your doorstep. For an authentic farm experience, you can meet the animals, collect fresh eggs, or purchase farm-fresh products like beef, burgers, and eggs during select seasons. Inside, find everything you need for a carefree stay: board games, bedding, towels (available for a small fee), toilet paper, candles, and thoughtful touches that bring comfort and charm. Guests consistently rave about their stays—describing the cabins as peaceful, beautifully furnished, and uniquely magical. Many mention playful visits from wildlife, stunning sunrises and sunsets, and exceptional hospitality from hosts Ruben and Merete.
We are Ruben and Merete, your hosts at Faråsen Tretoppgård. We love sharing our little corner of the world with guests who enjoy nature, peace, and a touch of adventure. Living on the farm ourselves, we take great joy in welcoming travelers, whether it’s for a quiet retreat, a family getaway, or a special celebration high up in the treetops. We’re passionate about creating memorable stays—whether that means recommending the best hiking trails, introducing you to our friendly farm animals, or making sure your cabin is warm and inviting when you arrive. In our free time, we enjoy exploring the outdoors, caring for the farm, and meeting people from all over the world. It’s our goal that you leave Faråsen feeling rested, inspired, and with a smile on your face.
Faråsen Tretoppgård is set in a peaceful forested area just outside Brumunddal, with sweeping views toward Lake Mjøsa. Guests love the feeling of being surrounded by nature—yet still close to local shops, restaurants, and attractions. From your cabin, you can step straight onto hiking and cross-country skiing trails, explore quiet woodland paths, or relax by the nearby pond. In Brumunddal, only a short drive away, you’ll find cozy cafés, restaurants, and the world’s tallest wooden building, Mjøstårnet, offering stunning views and a sky-high dining experience. For day trips, Hamar with its Viking Ship Arena and Domkirkeodden Museum is within easy reach, and Lillehammer—famous for its Olympic heritage and outdoor activities—is just over an hour away. Lake Mjøsa itself is perfect for swimming, or simply enjoying a lakeside picnic. Whether you’re here for outdoor adventures, local culture, or simply to unwind in scenic surroundings, our neighborhood offers a perfect balance of tranquility and things to explore.
