Welcome to our cozy Norwegian farmhouse, that sits high in the mountains, surrounded by trees with panoramic views of the stunning Gudbrandsdalen valley. Constructed back in 1777, this place has been at the centre of our family for four generations. The charming red barn is still standing next to the house but is no longer hosting animals. The fields make the perfect ground for sledging in the winter (and you are welcome to borrow our sledges). Tucked away in this peaceful corner, you will have a good chance of spotting deer from the window or perhaps a wondering moose. As well as the stunning nature, you have views over the ski slopes of Hafjell, which are just a 5 minute drive away. You will find supermarkets, restaurants and pubs in Øyer town, just 4km away. Not only are you practically neighbours with Hafjell, but you are also a quick 10 minute drive up a beautiful winding mountain road from the largest network of prepped cross country ski slopes in Norway. The living room has a cosy fireplace and we're happy to provide you with firewood from our forest. So whether you seek a quiet getaway or eager to hit the slopes, our charming farmhouse is ready to be your home base. We look forward to having you!
The house is composed of two separate units with two distinct entrances: one entrance is for the guests, the other one is used by me and my family. The two parts of the house are not communicating and we will respect your privacy. You can reach out to me in French, German, English or Norwegian.
Please note that a car is absolutely necessary to get around. Skiing: Hafjell ski resort is just a 5-minutes drive down the road (4 km). You are also 10 minutes away the largest network of prepped cross country ski slopes in Norway (if you drive further up the mountain). Train stations: Lillehammer train station is 25 minutes away by car (19 km). Hunderfossen train station 15 minutes away by car (7,5 km). Groceries: The closest grocery shops are located in the center of the town (Øyer) which is 5 minutes away by car (4 km). There you will also find a pharmacy and a post office. Restaurants: The closest restaurants are located in Øyer town center or on Hafjell ski resort (5 minutes away by car - 4 km). Golf: 2 km away (Nermo hotel).
