Recharge your batteries at this unique and picturesque accommodation. It is an old, charming residence with a distinctive identity. The house offers rural and peaceful surroundings only an hour drive from the city Tromsø and Tromsø (Langnes) airport. Enjoy the smell of the sea and the beautiful lights both summer and winter. The area has no street lights and little traffic, so therefore it provides a great opportunity to experience the northern lights. Here you can enjoy both peaceful days and an active holiday with hiking, skiing/peak touring, cycling, fishing, kayaking etc. The area is also popular for nature photography and fishing. Or enjoy the view of the sea from our small cozy sauna with a window. The property is approx. 30 acres. In the summer, there are sometimes wild sheep in a separate fence on the property. The wonderful nature surroundings offer excellent hiking opportunities. Here yuo can feel free to walk wherever you want to in the fields and along the shore. The house has its own beach line. There is also a unique animal and bird life, and a great opportunity to see animals like reindeer and eagles close to the house. We also have otters and other birdlife in close proximity to the house and occasionally you can observe whales swimming past. The house was built in the 60s by my great-uncle, who was a farmer and a fisherman like the generations before him. The house has always been very colourful, and we have wanted to keep it that way. Therefore you will find a different colour theme in each room. During our renovations we have tried to retain the old style, creating a cozy atmosphere. We hope you will find this place as charming and relaxing as we do. You are very welcome to come and stay at our lovely house by the sea. It is a wonderful opportunity to live in close contact with the wild nature, and a lovely spot if you would like to escape from the noise and hustle of the city.

We are a quiet family of 6, but the eldest boy has moved out on his own. At home we still have 3 lovely girls born in 2006, 2007 and 2010. I am the headmaster of a secondary school and my husband works with project management in the private sector. We like walks in the woods and fields in both summer and winter. Other things worth noting: It is a 13 minutes drive to Sommarøy It is a 10 minutes drive to the grocery store and the gas station In a 35 minutes distance you will find Tromsø Wilderness Centre 50 minutes drive to Langenes airport, Tromsø 1 hour drive from the city center of Tromsø There are many nice and popluar places by the house and nearby to see and take pictures of the northern lights. There is nearly no public transport, so you will depend on a car to get to the property and to get around in the area.
