A modern architecturally designed cedar and iron house set on an elevated site in the Otahuna Valley near Tai Tapu (20 minutes from Christchurch City and Christchurch Airport). The four hectare property is on a quite country road and overlooks a wetland and beyond the Port Hills, Canterbury Plains and Southern Alps. There's plenty of onsite free parking where you'll be greeted by a friendly Golden Retriever and Fox Terrier. An oak forest is home to the Kuni-Kuni pigs, other rare breeds on the property include Gotland pelt sheep, a miniature donkey and numerous varieties of poultry and waterfowl. Guests can relax in a large garden and surrounding farmland, most of the food served is from the extensive pottinger vegetable garden and orchard. Guests have a private entry and private sitting room with an open fire, opening onto a large deck and courtyard. Two large guest rooms - Kowhai Suite (Queen Bed) and Rata Suite (King/Twin Bed) both rooms have en-suite, walk in wardrobes and private balconies. Guest have a utility room with a fridge, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker, ironing facilities and book exchange. Adjacent is an extra guest toilet.

The host previously ran Ballymoney Farmstay and Garden in the Tai Tapu area for over 20 years and looks forward to hosting again in a new setting.
