Nestled in the heart of the Tai Poutini Westland National Park and only a 7-minute drive from the Franz Josef township, our cosy cabin in the paddocks offers stunning views of the Southern Alps and ample privacy in a rural setting. Relax after a fun day of hiking and sightseeing while enjoying our spectacular West Coast sunsets, listening to the native birds, stargazing on the deck or simply being lulled by the rain. Our studio cabin has been newly fitted and features a stylish interior with a lush queen bed, private en-suite toilet with spacious shower, kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, toaster and tea/coffee making facilities (no stove top), continental breakfast included, electric heat pump/air conditioning unit, 43” smart TV with Netflix and YouTube capabilities, and free unlimited WiFi. It is perfectly suited for 2 guests and with ample room for a carrycot or portacot (not provided).

Franz Josef has lots to offer for all ages and budgets, the main attraction bieng the Franz Josef Glacier which can be viewed by foot or by air. Our personal favourite activites should your budget allow would be a glacier hike or scenic flight with a snow landing along with kayaking on Lake Mapourika just 3 Km away, and quad biking.
