Gold Rush is a self contained studio unit, with Wifi, a heat pump (air conditioner) and two single beds (1 person each × 2) which meet a range of travellers’ needs. These have comfortable mattresses, quality blankets, electric blankets and pillow options.
There is a shower, vanity and toilet with all towels provided including swimming ones plus soaps, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The kitchen area includes a fridge, microwave, two element hob, toaster, electric kettle, lots of cook ware and serve ware supplies for your needs as well as a dining table and chairs.
The TV has Freeview channels and you can also cast your own Netflix or YouTube to it. There is a DVD player and a large range of DVDs too!
Gold Rush has its own deck and garden area with outdoor dining and relaxation seating options plus seaviews. Additionally there is a further seating area provided with books, magazines, games and a pool table for use if you desire. Your onsite parking area is right beside the entry to this unit.
Within easy walking distances of Gold Rush are Constant and Joyce Bays, with beach and coastline walks, as well as the Charleston Tavern and Restaurant plus the Underworld Adventures Base and Cafe. The start of the Kawatiri Coastal Trail is just at the end of the street too! This is handy for your cycling or an easy-grade 1 km walk along a Native Forest Trail to the award winning Nile River Suspension Bridge.
Owner-Operators, Sarah and Shane, are very passionate about the West Coast. The live on the same property, will welcome you and are available to share their knowledge of the local and wider areas with you.
Sarah will deliver you breakfast items to you in the evening so that at a time that suits for you in the morning you can choose from the selections. There will be a range of cereals, yogurt, fresh seasonal fruits, toast breads, eggs, spreads and juice such as is shown in the photos.
Gold Rush is in the small coastal village of Charleston which was founded as a gold mining town in 1867. Nestled beside the historic goldfields and mines, with a spectacular Paparoa Mountain Range backdrop, Charleston has beautiful River Valleys, Native Forests, Limestone Cliffs and Caves on one side and a stunning coastline with Bays, Beaches and renowned sunsets on the other.
In the Charleston area are many walking trails and also swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding places. Attractions on offer in Charleston include the Nile River Rainforest Train, Cave and Glowworm Tours, Horse Trekking, Historic Goldmine Tours and amazing starry nights!
Charleston is on the scenic Coast Road with Punakaiki, the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes just 25 minutes drive South then Cape Foulwind, the Lighthouse and Seal Colony walks just 20 minutes drive North.
Westport is also just 20 minutes drive North, for your other possible purchase and activity needs, and has Supermarkets, Fuel Stations, Shops, Restaurants, Cafes, Galleries, Movie Theatre, Information Centre, Museum, Indoor Pool and Sports Centre.
