Our Kiwi beach front bach has been in our family for nearly 100 years, where nearly 3 generations have holidayed here. The bach is in an amazing location right across the road to the beautiful safe sandy beach of Tapu which is conveniently located half way between Thames and Coromandel town ships along the world famous Coast Road. The recently renovated interior, offers very comfortable, fresh living areas with stunning unobstructed sea views to enjoy. Whether you want to relax on the decks watching the sun sets over the Firth of Thames with drink in hand, after spending your day swimming, walking on the beach or fishing, it is all here at your finger tips. You can also take advantage of the multitude of local outdoor activities that are close by on the Peninsular. There is parking for your vehicle and boat (if you have one). One thing to note is if you are planning on arriving later on in the evening then you are best to call into the Thames Supermarket (20kms South of Tapu) to stock up on supplies (they close at 8.00pm ).

Welcome to the Tapu bach where I am proud to be your host and to make sure your stay creates great memories for you. I have a background in the Travel Industry so has seen great hosts in action. I have a passion for Ballroom, Marching, baking and travel. I live next door and am happy to be on hand to deal with any queries you may have.

Locally there is dairy/ petrol pump / takeaways just up the road but it doesn't have late opening hours, then there is the local Tapu Pub just a 5 min stroll away but once again the opening hours are sporadic, but usually open late on the weekends. It has a pub restaurant , garden bar and bottle store. Ask a local to tell you where the numerous safe local swimming holes are in the near by creeks, They are magic. In Thames there are museums of the Gold Mining day plus working exhibitions, Saturday market days and coffee shops galore. Further North there is the Driving Creek Railway in Coromandel (Reservations in summer time advised) and the fun Waterworks on the Coromandel 309 Road. We are only 1 hour away from Hot Water Beach plus not much further to Surf Beaches on the East Coast. There is a huge number of walks / tramps on the Peninsular and fishing spots everywhere. Yep - something for everyone.
