fred and donz bed and breakfast is a private wing off our home, located a short drive south of the town centre, 400m up from the lake edge and walking paths. We are in a quiet neighborhood with several dining options around us, all about a 15 minute walk away. There is also a convenience store a 5 minute walk away. We are located just off the main Lake Terrace with easy travel to and from town, the airport and links to Rotorua ( a 1 hour drive) Napier (a 2 hour drive) or National Park (1 and 1/4 hours drive) We are also a 20 minute drive to the beautiful Wairaki Terraces hot pools for a relaxing mineral water soak. Trout fishing is a favourite pastime for many in Taupo either on the lake (charters available from the marina) or if you have your own rod fly fishing up the many rivers. If Fred is home he is more than willing to show you the "spots" We have a large established garden which backs onto a reserve, with several sitting areas guests are welcome to enjoy as the weather permits, we also have a very small Maltese Shitzu named Elvis that welcomes guests and is always up for a pat or cuddle.

We have 4 restaurants/bars, of different styles and cuisine, all within a 15 minute walk. Our neighborhood is well lit in the evenings and very safe to walk around. We are out of the main bustle of the town centre but only an easy short drive away. The Lions Walk, a beautiful lakeside paved path is 400m away and a beautiful walk in the evenings to watch the sunset with fish and chips from the local takeaways.
