The cottage is fitted out with quality modern furnishings and finished to a high standard. There is the opportunity to get close and/or among the very tame alpaca's and feed them out of your hand. Kohinui Glade is very secure and in a private setting. Access is gained through electric controlled gate. The cottage has a security alarm. Guest are free to walk around the property and there is a short, easy bush walk on the native forest trail.

The area is a Kiwi conservation area, therefore avoidance of domestic animals. In the surrounding you will hear sounds of bird wild life, specifically tui's, fantails, native wood pigeons and more. At night the possibility of the cry of the morepork echoing through the valley and not to mention the occasional possum.
