Ohope beach is voted the best beach in NZ. We totally agree and love living here. The beach is just a 1 min walk away. Our home is 2 level. We live upstairs. The apartment downstairs has a separate entrance.
I am a teacher. Together Rob and I enjoy walks on the beach. We especially love these walks in beautiful sunsets.
Ohope is a small community with local restaurants, cafes and a lovely beach. There is also a harbour great for paddle boarding and kayaking. White island is an active volcano just off shore. The beach is safe for swmiming. Otarawaiere is a fabulous spot with rock pools thats fun to explore that's a short scenic walk or you can carry on all the way into town. West End of Ohope is the local surf spot. Our favorite restaurant is Fishermans Wharf 5 min drive away that often has spectacular views of the harbour in full sunset in summer. It's uncrowded and a fabulous place for outdoor living.
