A private and peaceful escape in a geodesic dome hidden in native bush overlooking a glow worm stream close to Pohara Beach. A glass bay window allows you to immerse yourself in greenery with the sounds of nature all around. Bird song through the day is replaced by the sounds of the stream at night. A great sunny spot with a sea view where you can escape, relax and be close to nature while still enjoying luxury comforts. This new 3 layered luxury dome tent has wooden floors, glass windows & door and electricity. You get to enjoy the benefits of camping and being close to the outdoors with a comfortable queen bed, armchairs, lighting, fan, fridge, kettle, plates, cups and utensils. It's kind of like a forest bathing retreat in a stream and bush setting where you can switch off and zone out. Time seems to slow here and your mind can free itself from the noise of modern living. This is a park and walk in set up. The walk is 2 minutes in native bush with a wee stream crossing so wear appropriate footwear and leave your trolley bags behind. There is a hot bush shower, composting toilet, BBQ and fridge.

We love spending time in the outdoors, birds, nature and traveling. We have 3 kids and live further up on the property. We are available by text and will pop down if you need us, otherwise we'll respect your privacy and won't disturb you. You will need to self check-in.

We are in a really central location close to all the best parts of Golden Bay. The dome is located up secluded Pohara Valley where the locals and a valley full of birds live. A 10 minute walk takes you to Pohara Beach and the Pohara tennis courts. A further stroll along the beach takes you to the cafes, restaurants, bars and shops of Pohara. A 5 min drive takes you to the golden sands of Ligar Bay and Tata Beach. Wainui and Totaranui in the Abel Tasman National park are only 15-30mins away. And Takaka itself is a 15 min drive back the way you came in.
