Treat yourself to a slice of New Zealand's rural life and check into The Good Shepherds Hut, an historic shepherds' dwelling at Simons Hill Station that's been lovingly restored into a cosy, relaxing accommodation space while still retaining its rustic charm and rural atmosphere.
Enjoy the comfort of its queen bed for two, private spa pool, outdoor shower and private ensuite bathroom.
Simons Hill offers a deeper darker night sky experience within Mackenzie's famous Dark Sky Reserve.
The Good Shepherds Hut is on Simons Hill Station, a family-owned, working station, farming fine-wool merino sheep and beef. This is a working farm so be prepared for the sounds and smells of nature and animals and be prepared to follow all instructions around machinery and roads.
We love having the opportunity to make fantastic, memorable breaks for our guests and show them a slice of our haven at Simons Hill. If you need anything to make your trip extra special, just shout out!
The farm is located half-way between Lake Tekapo and Twizel townships.
We are the perfect location for a tranquil escape whilst having a vast amount of attraction close by.
Such as Lake Tekapo, Tekapo Hot Springs, Lake Pukaki, Mount Cook, Roundhill Ski Hill, Lake Alexandria and plenty of more..
The closest shops are 29km away and are closed by 8pm at night. There are no public transport options - you must have your own transport.
