The Studio at Northfield is located next to the original 1914 homestead (see separate listing for Northfield luxury accommodation) but provides you with complete privacy. The property is set in 4 acres of gardens and paddocks, so has a beautiful outlook and peaceful feeling, and yet is only a short 10-minute walk to the bars & restaurants in the center of Methven. The Studio is a purpose-built studio-apartment with a luxurious king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and stylish open plan living/dining/kitchenette area. The space is bright and airy with beautiful decor and luxury fixtures and fittings. Comfy leather sofas, a 49" tv with Netflix and complimentary Wi-Fi are provided for your relaxation. The kitchenette has a Nespresso machine for those essential morning coffees and complimentary treats. Robes and slippers are provided to make you feel right at home. Outside you can sit and read a book in the garden, watch the sun go down with a glass of wine on your private deck, or end your day with a soak in the hot tub under the beautiful New Zealand sky.

Methven is a beautiful place to visit – with skiing in winter and a wealth of stunning outdoor scenery and activities in summer. It has all the restaurants, bars and facilities you need, yet with a relaxed country town vibe. Methven is just over an hour from Christchurch airport, 20 minutes to the nearest large town (Ashburton) and 40 minutes to Mt Hutt skifield. It is a fantastic base for day trips, with many fantastic places within a short drive - including Castle Hill (where they filmed the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe), Mt Sunday (Edoras in Lord of the Rings), Lakes Coleridge, Camp or Clearwater, or the Rakaia River. Methven is a base for all sorts of outdoor activities including skiing, heli-skiing, horse-riding, jet-boating, hot air ballooning, rafting, scenic flights and walking. Or if you need some down time, we have massage therapy, beauty therapy or a boutique cinema in town. In the evening Methven has a variety of pubs and restaurants ranging from an Irish Bar or traditional pubs to fine dining restaurants, Japanese, Thai, Italian and bistros.
