Nestled in the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass, and in the heart of Arthur’s Pass National Park, The Tussocks offers a great mid-way stopover when travelling from coast to coast, or a fantastic base for doing the many tracks and trails in the surrounding area. The house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families, hikers/trampers and larger groups of up to eight people.

Michael and Marion have lived and worked in the Arthur's Pass area for many years in the hospitality industry. In our spare time we enjoy the many local tracks this area has to offer as well as skiing in the winter.

Arthur's Pass is situated in a beautiful alpine setting. There are only about 31 permanent residents but there is a great community feel to the place. Ten minutes' walk will take you to the village centre where there is a cafe/store, a licensed restaurant and the Department of Conservation Visitor Centre. Here you can get information and advice on the many walks in and around the area. There are also easy day trips from Arthur's Pass e.g. Lake Brunner in the west and Castle Hill area and Lake Pearson to the east. The Store has a limited supply of groceries, so you would be best to bring your supplies with you. We provide complimentary tea/coffee etc. to get you started.
