Tophouse is a beautiful Historical Cob hotel (Guest House) built in 1887. and steeped in history. The Mountainview Cottages are situated behind the Cob Guesthouse on the same property. They face the mountains and get a magnificent view. They stand alone , Cottage 1 & 3 face a different way to Cottage 2 & 4 so they have privacy. Please come to the Reception at the Tophouse Guesthouse on arrival for payment and we will show you to your cottage. Tophouse is located at the top of 4 valleys and is elevated off the main road, 7Km from the Alpine Village of Saint Arnaud. We are 7km from the Alpine Village of Saint Arnaud on the shores of Lake Rotoiti, located there is the Visitors Centre run by The Department of Conservation which will guide you to all the great activities available in the Nelson Lakes National Park: Tramping, Hiking, Mountain biking, Fishing, Skiing, Kayaking, 4WDriving. Saint Arnaud is a beautiful area to walk around, lots of little tracks in the native bush, listen to the native birds. There is a grocery store and petrol Station in the village. Take the water taxi up the lake and walk back is a option to see beautiful Lake Rotoiti or just look at the giant eels under the jetty. Whatever the weather this Alpine Mountain area and Lake will capture you. The Rainbow ski field is about 1/2hour from Tophouse to the bottom of the ski field ,we are the closest accommodation to the ski field .
