Heading Sputh to Wellington and decided to break up the trip as was getting late by the time we arrived. Comfortable stay and nicer than motels in the vicinity.

Everything, after a trying ferry crossing, this was just what we needed to recover. Absolutely loved the thoughtful extras provided for a delicious breakfast. Couldn't find fault with anything.

The land that the Cottage is located on has been in my family for approximately 100 years. When you are staying you will see sheep, lambs, cattle and even a horse in the paddock please respect these animals. Many of my extended family live nearby. As you will notice we all enjoy gardening and have lots of native trees on our properties. As you came up gorge road you will have driven through the famous Totara tunnel. The Eastern boundary of the property is planted with Poplars (commonly used to create shelter belts in the area ) and trees which are a hybrid of Northern Rata and a Pohutakawa. In the northern corner there is a patch of Canadian Redwoods. Next to these is the native block and this leads onto the orchard. The western boundary, from which our prevailing wind comes from has a hedge of Camellia’s The pottery in the garden is the work of two local potters The outside bath is available for you to relax in you just need to fill it with cold water and heat with the gas ring provided. This takes approximately 45 minutes There is a bbq available. In the kitchen there is a microwave, small oven, induction cook top toaster, jug and coffee maker. There are dish washing facilities and a breakfast bar The bathroom has a shower, toilet, heated floor, heated towel rail, heater and fan The bedroom has a queen size bed, a luggage rack a-coat rack, a bookcase which has books, and games. The bed has a lift up bass in this area are addition blankets, towels, portacot and single mattress for a child. Breakfast is available on request. Options include Free range eggs Bread, butter and jam Cereal and frozen fruit grown on the property ( Ruhbarb, Tamarillos, and stewed apple) Waiora B &B is on a sceptic tank. Wipes, sanitary items and nappies must not be put down the toilet. Please place these in containers provided by the toilet. Guests are not allowed to use candles in the cottage or on the veranda as these are a fire risk. Please do your dishes.
The host is excited to be sharing her property with guests, I love living up the gorge and enjoying the river and other amenities of the gorge. I enjoy gardening and horse riding. I have two cocker spaniel dogs Jess and Murph. Guests are allowed to bring pets, but they must be kept within the confines of the B and B at all times. Please advise host if you are bringing a pet. There is a surcharge for pets this can be left on the bench. Enjoy your stay
