What we enjoy most about Bocas del Toro, and Sand Dollar in particular, are the sounds and sights of the jungle and the sea surrounding us. The local people are friendly and fun loving. We love making new friends, both locals and travelers. Come join us! ...Mark & Sharon
Our neighborhood is called the "YGriega", or "Y" because we are near the turnoff for Drago and Starfish Beach. Sand Dollar is situated on a 3-acre property in front of the sea. 20 steps off the verandah where breakfast is served, through the gate, across the road, ....swimming beach! Next door is the Finca los Monos Botanical Gardens, an amazing attraction that shouldn't be missed. In the back of our property, howler monkeys are often present. Occassionally, we see sloths and iguanas. Always, lovely birds: parrots, Montezuma Oropendolas, flycatchers, hummingbirds, to name a few. We grow coconuts, papayas and bananas on our property. The free ranging chickens provide eggs for our breakfasts.
