Offering a large deck to sun and lounge to enjoy jungle views and ocean sounds, Surf Break at Paunch is a bed & breakfast set in Paunch Beach in the Isla Colon Region, 3.7 km from Bocas Town. Each room also has a private seating area for your convenience. You will find a coffee machine in the room. Each room comes with a private bathroom fitted with a hot water shower. There are various restaurants and bars within walking or biking distance. The property is also less than 200 meters away from one of Boca's best surf breaks and within a walking or biking distance to the three other surf breaks in Isla Colon.

I moved to Bocas to get away from the grind and take a hold of my own future. I moved from Park City area in Utah, prior to that from Dallas, Texas. I love the outdoors and the Caribbean life and love to share my experience with others and to meet new people.

Surf Break at Paunch is located at Paunch Beach on Isla Colon in Bocas del Toro, Panama. We have four beautiful rooms and amazing tree house like views. Here you can wake up to the sounds of Howler Monkeys and tropical birds and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean from the nearby surf. When you visit us, not only are you visiting an amazing tropical paradise with tons of unique wildlife, beautiful plants and landscapes, but also an epic surf spot right at our front door…with more amazing beaches and surf spots just a short walk, bike, taxi or boat ride away!

Playa Paunch or Punch, depending on your native accent or what map you read is one of the more popular surf breaks in Bocas del Toro. Although best known for its surf, Playa Paunch is lovely in and of itself. Its pleasant and surprisingly uncrowded, and its shoreline affords wonderful views of Isla Colón and Isla Carenero in the distance. It may be one of the island’s best and most convenient places to spend the day lounging by the sea. In the Paunch area (and beyond), you are away from the hustle and bustle of Bocas Town. Here you can see tons of wildlife on a daily basis – most of which you’d never see in town. Toucans, sloths, iguanas, and two species of monkeys (Howler and Capuchin). The area is excellent for bird watching and you can take a tour through the jungle if you want to become more familiar with the abundant plant life on this tropical island. Still, most people come here to surf. The waves break both left and right and tend to vary in size, making it perfect for intermediate and advanced surfers.

Kindly be informed that the balance must be payed in cash upon check-in. In case guests do not want to carry cash or visit the local bank, they can pay by PayPal or Credit Card, but both will carry an extra fee.

Please note: allergy warning, as there are dogs that live on the property.

Although there are various beaches within walking or biking distance education, the beaches closest to the property are mostly reef, most popular for surfing. Occasionally one can wade into sandbars during low tide.

We strongly recommend guests considering staying here research Bocas in advance to understand the area, where we are located and the seasons (wet vs dry season, when is it best to surf, when and where is best to swim, etc).

The property is on a jungle hillside. Please bring strong insect repellent, and mosquito nets are provided for those guests that want extra protection at night.

The area is most popular for hiking, biking, and surfing, and there are many beaches for exploring and swimming all over Bocas, just a short bicycle, taxi or water taxi away!
