The Posada, located near the corner of Calle Ananias Diokno and Calle Conrado Sanchez (known as Calle P Zamora), in Poblacion 6, hopes to welcome and give its guests a glimps of life during the last stages of the Spanish era in the Philippines, which flourished for over three centuries (1565 to 1898). We wish you a restful and memorable stay at the Posada, where you can relive the past in contemporary comfort!
周边信息
Taal is famous for its many old ancestral homes, the oldest known house still standing is that of the Marino-Agoncillo Family. Originally built in the 1770s, and enlarged in the early 1800s, the Agoncillo House is now a museum.
Taal’s poblacion (central business and residential district), is designated as a National Historical Landmark. The poblacion is towered over by the impressive Basilica of San Martin de Torres (St Martin of Tours), built in its present neo-baroque and neo-classical form from 1856-78. There were previous versions since 1755, successively damaged and rebuilt because of earthquakes and fires. Taal Basilica holds the distinction of being Asia’s largest Catholic church. Another interesting site to visit is the miraculous shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay and Sta Lucia well (chapel was built in 1639).
The municipality is also known as the Balisong (butterfly or fan knife), and Barong Tagalog (embroidered national fabric), Capital of the Philippines.
Being home to many heritage structures dating from the Spanish colonial period, scholars have been pushing for Taal’s inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
