Founded in 1987 by its current owner, José Mendonça, ASPA Studios was created to offer an alternative to standard hotels—one where guests could truly feel at home. From the start, the atmosphere has been relaxed, communication informal, and a small, dedicated team always on hand to help.

Our studios are located in Funchal's renowned historical district, at the corner of Rua da Carreira, surrounded by numerous attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas. The marina, old town, farmer's market, and cable car are all within walking distance. Additionally, the English Church and some of Madeira's most beautiful museums, such as Quinta das Cruzes, are located nearby.
