During one of his summers in Belgium Jelle met Justin and they instantly became soul brothers with a shared passion for life, travelling, the ocean and an overall bourgondien lifestyle with respect and gratitude. Pushing each other’s limits on land and on the water, sharing intense moments in the line-up, has not only led to a profound knowledge of the ocean but eventually even to a sponsorship by O`Neill. Over the years Jelle realized that he wanted to continue his volunteering winters in India, but also build up something of his own. Justin and him spent countless nights together fantasizing about one day combining all of their shared passions in a hospitality business with a more than personal twist and so Casa Paco D’Ilhas was born…

Casa Paço D`Ilhas stands for traditional heritage-style with contemporary comfort. Whether you book a deluxe room or a low-key cabana, there will be no difference in the way you`ll feel immersed in our holistic leisure experience. All guests have free access to the communal areas: our nearly 200 years old main house with plenty of rustic charm, reading corner with fireplace, honesty bar, sunlit veranda and restaurant, our pristine garden with plenty of hidden corners and two pools, our sun lounge, organic veg patch, children`s playground and ocean view yoga deck, our yoga shala and massage studio and last but not least the firepit for cozy bonfires under the stars. And don’t worry to come and visit us during the colder months (well, it never actually gets that cold around here ;-), as all rooms, bathrooms and communal areas have central heating and the family-houses even come with a rustic fireplace on top! We have different types of rooms to cater for each of our guests personal tastes and expectations.

We named our guesthouse after it`s location in Paço D`Ilhas, a small rural village with a rich cultural heritage dating back to the 13th century. Casa do Paço D`Ilhas is located on an elusive hilltop overlooking the world renowned surfbreaks of the Ericeira world surfing reserve on one side and the lush countryside of Santo Isodoro Municipality on the other side. Set in a quiet outskirt of Ericeira village we are surrounded by the nature and wake up with the sound of the breaking waves when a good swell hits our shores. Yet we are located just a short drive away from Ericeira village, a traditional Portuguese fishing village that has been catering for tourism for over eight centuries, but still always managed to maintain it`s original character, symbolised by it`s labyrinth of windswept alleys that whisper tales of sea faring adventures.
