We are a Dutch family - a music composer and a former management assistant, with our beautiful twin daughters - who decided it was time for a change...something completely different. After a long quest we found this beautiful island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2018 we took the step, moved to Faial, and bought a house, abandoned for almost 20 years. An opportunity for sure, so we started our new adventure to build on a new home...and our 'Faial Cottage'. So...now we can welcome you to visit Faial to explore the same Island.

On Faial Island most things are closeby. Local grocery store 'Xavier' is on 800m from Faial Cottage. There are also several restaurants nearby, like Restaurant Pasquinha (1,2km), Restaurant 'O Escondereijo' (400m) and 'Pizza Roma on 2km, which also has a take-away option. Horta is 25m drive, The newly formed land 'Capelhinos' is on 10km and the 'Caldeira' vulcanic peak is visible from Faial Cottage and driving to the top takes you about 20m. Faial Cottage is situated at a quite, farmers road in the quite town of Cedros. Next to 'Xavier', which also has an additional restaurant, there is the local bakery as well where you can get fresh baked bread every morning.
