The Santo Cristo House arises with the intention of providing the local and flutuant (turists) population, an option of local accommodation with confort, calm even being in the city centre of Ponta Delgada.
The Santo Cristo House was only a modest home, where the Sousa Family spent the festivities of the local saint, Santo Cristo dos Milagres, in which the whole family came together: Sons/Daughter, In-Laws and grandchildren. It was the goal of the descendants of the Sousa Family to keep as much as possible of the construction of their first-born , keeping unchanged the front door entry panel with the image of the Holy Christ , and all the furniture, some being restored to a style vintage. By coincidence, the owner has in it’s name “Santo Cristo”, which made it easier to ponder the choosing of the name for the house. And for many other reasons the name “Santo Cristo”( it translates to Holy Christ in english) kept coming up, it was the owners (Daughter and Son-In-Law of the first property owners) to name this resedence The Santo Cristo House.
The localization it’s a very strong feature of this residence, You will be a few meters away from the center of the city of Ponta Delgada, there´s the Park Atlantic Shopping Mall, the infamous Antonio Borges garden, bars and restaurants. Public transportation services nearby.
