The Retreat - Ria Formosa has an awareness of wellbeing and recognises ‘time out’. With this in mind the house has no TV or Wi-Fi. The property (adults only) welcomes - solo travellers, couples or group of three and LGBTQ. It is possible to book Reiki sessions or Spinal Energetic sessions with the host during your stay in a beautiful holistic space dedicated to modalities, healing and wellbeing. This beautiful little house is set in a peaceful urban setting, approximately 5 minutes walk from the N125 where there are a few welcoming local cafes and restaurants. A place of calm in nature with a sea view, olive groves and a friendly wave from a neighbour. Sit on your veranda and listen to the cicadas, distant cockerels and dogs or just immerse yourself listening to the birds, watch butterflies or the frequent appearance of the Little Owl. A wonderful spot for star gazing too. The Retreat sits proud up a slight incline so catching the sea air and breeze is a great advantage.

The neighbourhood is a quiet residential hamlet which hopes to provide you with the peace and space, whether you are a sole traveller, couple or a small group of three. A quiet and safe spot for female travellers too. The Retreat - Ria Formosa Hamlet is perfectly positioned to explore, Fuseta and Tavira, along with adventures across the Spanish border on the eastern side of the Algarve, not forgetting Moncarapacho, Olhao, and Faro. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nearby islands Armona and Culatra with a short ferry trip or an exhilarating ride on a water taxi. Easy access along the N125 to the Western side of the Algarve where you will find Vilamoura, Albufeira, Alvor and many more wonderful and interesting places. The location has a country feel, a place where you get a wave from the small community, hear dogs barking in the distance and cicadas humming during the evening. This spot is magical, a place of solace if you choose it, a place to draw/paint or read your book, a place to marvel at the sea view from the windows, be mesmerised by the storks gliding, butterflies, the tiny owl and the clear nights sky. If you fancy a local coffee, an authentic snack or meal, walking or driving a few hundred metres from your Casa onto the main N125 should do the trick.
