Conacul Malul Alb is a superb mansion built in the traditional Neo-Romanian style, with an unique location, surrounded by forest, but at the same time only couple of kilometers away from the city center. With a view over the country's biggest inner river, Olt, the property benefits from one acre garden with beautiful landscape. Spread all around the garden, there are several gazebos and pergolas where guests can relax, a pond with a pontoon on which meals could be served, a seasonal pool which guests could enjoy from the beginning of summer until late in the autumn. The villa has four apartments, of which one belongs to the hosts, while the other three apartments could be rented either entirely or individually. Although we do not have a restaurant, our guests could occasionally taste our traditional home made dishes. We highly recommend our specialty, the green tomatoes jam with ginger and anais or the home made bread rolls .

Famous old monasteries to visit on an area of few miles of which most important are: o Cozia (1387) with a museum exhibiting old art: old manuscripts and prints, embroideries and objects of worship. The monastery hosts the burial of Mircea I of Wallachia o Hurez (1690) founded by Prince Constantin Brancoveanu, known for its architectural purity and balance and the richness of its sculpted details o Curtea de Arges a very large and elaborate mausoleum, built in Byzantine style by Prince Neagoe Basarab o Cetatuia (XV century) where Radu of Afumaţi, a ruler of Wallachia and his son Vlad were execut 2. Wellness locations nearby: o The salt mines Ocnele Mari is 10 mile away, situated at 225 meters above sea level. The saline aerosols inhaled in the mine treat various health matters, in particular breathing problems. o Calimanesti and Olanesti resorts with thermal water pools, hydro therapy with sulfurous mineral waters indicated for the treatment of digestive and hepatobiliary diseases. 3. Several vineyards in the area which could be visited for wine tasting, most recommended being Stirbey or Avincis. 4. Cultural sites The city has a small but outstanding art museum where works of the most important classic Romanian painters are exposed. In the main hall of the city library, the largest stained glass dome in the world could be admired. The city has several parks, of which one in particular has a historic importance, being the place where the Romanian national anthem was first intonated in 1848.
