Apartment Borovo is situated in the heart of Šabac, within a building known as the "Krsmanovićа House" or "Borovо Building" .
The Krsmanovićа House stands out as one of the most representative works of the first phase of Serbian academicism and serves as a prominent symbol of Šabac, having been constructed in 1891. Designated as a cultural monument under state protection since 1985, this building holds special significance as a testament to the philanthropy of its era.
Originally brought into the Krsmanović family through Jovanka, a member of the renowned Topuzović family of Šabac, this house holds a legacy of generosity. Jovanka's father, a prominent figure, stipulated in his will the construction of 12 shops within the house and the annual allocation of 200 gold coins from its proceeds as a dowry for impoverished girls from Šabac.
Apartment Borovo underwent a complete renovation in 2012 and received partial renovations in 2024. Its windows offer picturesque views of the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the National Bank Building (SDK), and the bustling city center itself.
