The Cowboy House is an ideal spot to get away, to unwind and to relax. It is nestled at the edge of the forest, 200 m walking distance from our home. If you have a 4x4 car, you can drive down, if not, zou have a free parking spot at our house.
The Cowboy house is a great escape from summer heat. The only thing you see from the windows is forest. No houses, no roofs, no traffic, no lights. Your only visitors will be animals: birds, deer, maybe a fox. The house faces South-West with its terrace, and the evening light is amazing.
The house is as eco-frendly, locally sourced, hand made and up-cycled from foundation to curtains. Expect miss-matched bed covers and towels!
The house is built from wood of trees that grew within 100 m of it. The stones used for the front stairs were collected on site. The two kitchen closets were hand made from wood left over from the building the house and we had a lot of trouble finding a sink and a shower tub that actually fit the dimensions we needed. The benches on the porch and the little closet upstairs are renovated but close to 100 years old.
Tap water at Ranch Lambergar does not contain chlorine: we have our own water system, all our guests have access to cold, clean, amazing water.
The kitchenette has a fridge, an electric cooker&stove, both very old, relics from a time when appliances were made to last a generation. There's also a brand new air fryer. All the small things one needs in the kitchen are there. The bathroom is pocket size but has a toilet and a shower and yes, there's hot water.
Why do we call it the Cowboy House? Simply: It's built in the Wild West style, easily for a set in a western movie as a cabin of a mountain man. And yes, there's a spot to tie a horse at ... if you come by a horse.
Very important note: The Cowboy house is intended for nature lovers. We do not need any more bad reviews by over-nighters who wish to book the cheapest room they find. We do not offer a 1 night stay any more.
Let us just say we are interesting, international and colorful. Come and meet us.
The neighborhood is forest. Mostly quiet, but sometimes noisy at night, especially when the deer and owls decide to have a party :)
On a serious note: our home is 200 m away, you pass it on arrival. And our only neighbor is 0,5 km away.
We also offer camping spots on our meadows, so any people that may wonder by are most likely other guests, out on a stroll. If you wish you can come up to the sitting area at the farmhouse for a chat, a juice or to check out our mini zoo or the greenhouse (we grow carnivorous plants).
