Welcome to Casa Lumina – a brand-new renovation completed in 2025, perched on the !! 4th floor !! of a real 1848 palace in the heart of old-town Piran. It’s where vintage grandeur meets modern comfort, and yes—your glutes will thank you for every one of those charming old stairs. Trust us, the climb is worth it.
This isn’t just any apartment—it’s a stylish sanctuary where history shakes hands with high design. We've blended the elegance of 19th-century architecture with the needs (and whims) of 21st-century travelers. That means the stone walls stay, but now they're joined by a sleek kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, ambient lighting, and windows that frame the Adriatic like a Renaissance painting. You’ll feel like royalty—just the kind that knows how to use an espresso machine.
🛠️ Historic bones, modern soul
The building itself dates back to 1848, when people still traveled by sail and wore very dramatic hats. But inside, everything is fresh and new, lovingly restored and thoughtfully designed in 2025. Every corner of the apartment pays homage to its past while embracing the now.
Expect high ceilings, original details, and thick walls that keep things cool in the summer—while the updated interior brings you warm wood floors, smooth finishes, and a layout that flows beautifully whether you're unpacking for the week or just pouring a glass of something cold.
🍳 The kitchen: truffle-ready and wine-friendly
Calling all food lovers, snackers, and late-night pasta philosophers: the kitchen is fully equipped and eager to please. It features a stovetop, oven, fridge, toaster and a sleek espresso machine that understands your early-morning needs. Whether you're preparing a seafood feast, slicing up some salty pršut, or just trying to reheat your leftovers without waking the whole town—this space delivers.
Bonus: there's a charming little breakfast time perfect for sipping coffee while the morning sun kisses the rooftops outside.
📺 Tech that doesn’t intrude, but delights
Let’s face it—vacation sometimes includes guilty-pleasure. That’s why we’ve added a flat-screen TV and a Hi-Fi audio system. Stream your favorite playlist, catch up on that series you've been ignoring, or just set the mood for an evening in. You’re in control of the vibe.
🛏️ The bedroom: peace, privacy, perfect light
The bedroom is tucked away on the quiet side of the apartment, facing north. That means cool, gentle light in the morning (ideal for slow-motion stretches), and restful shade during those mid-afternoon naps you totally deserve. The bed is queen-sized with high-quality linens, perfect for collapsing into after a day of sun, seafood, and light day-drinking.
Need a little reading nook? The window ledge is great for flipping through a novel or pretending to write your memoirs.
🌅 Living room with a view (and a vibe)
Here’s where Lumina really shines—literally. The east-facing living area is bathed in morning light and opens up to a view straight out of a fairytale. From your windows, you’ll see the ancient city walls, pastel rooftops, and the shimmer of the port bay in the distance.
And below? A real-time, live-action drama: the parade of tourists shuffling through Piran’s narrow streets, queuing for photos and calamari. From your elevated throne, you get to observe the hustle without being in it. It's like theater, but with ice cream, glass of wine or gin' & tonik along with sea breeze and birds singing.
🚗 Parking in Piran: the myth, the legend (solved)
Yes, parking in Piran can be... a creative adventure. But don’t worry—we’ve cracked the code. Two nearby garages offer daily parking for a reasonable fee, and we’ll send you an easy step-by-step guide (complete with maps and parking hacks) so you can ditch the car and slip into vacation mode without breaking a sweat. On reuquest we can figure out the unloading siutcases with own car inside the town.
🌿 Daily delights: from sea to sky
• Morning espresso on the window ledge, overlooking red rooftops and rising sun.
• Midday swims in clear, blue water—Piran’s rocky beaches are a joy (and exfoliate your feet for free).
• Wandering through tiny artisan shops—ceramics, lavender oil, local salt, handmade jewelry.
• Church bells and olive trees, a quick climb to the city walls or tower church, the kind of view that makes you believe in postcards again.
• Slow dinners with candlelight and laughter.
• And somewhere in there, that quiet moment where you realize: you're completely relaxed.
✨ Stay salty in Piran
This town is designed for you to slow down, drop your shoulders, and remember what it feels like to just be. Let the Adriatic sparkle fill your eyes, and let the rhythm of this ancient town seep into your bones.
Get lost on purpose. Climb a tower just because it looks fun. Step into centuries-old churches where the silence feels sacred. Swim until your fingers wrinkle. Wander until your soul says, this is it. Sip wine that was grown a hill away. Nap under an open window. Laugh with someone you love. Or just with a good book.
💛 Dear guests,
Soak in centuries of charm. And most importantly—live like you’ve always known you belonged here. This apartment is your stage, your cocoon, your happy place above it all. Watch the world below while you do absolutely nothing.
Please treat the apartment with care. It’s a space made for joy, for daydreams, for dinners that last too long, and for future travelers to enjoy just as much as you. We’re honored to share it with you.
Here’s to sunsets that change you, seagulls that amuse you, and a stay so good you’ll start planning your return before you’ve even left.
Welcome to Lumina Palazzo.
Stay salty. Stay curious. Stay a while.
Warmest regards,
Jaka
