Gavalier Design Rooms is located in a renovated historic building Joergesov dom in the center of Banska Stiavnica. Joergesov dom was built in the 16th century in the renaissance period. In the building, in adition to accommodation is a cafe with a wide range of excellent desserts from the own production, confectionary manufactory, large patio suitable for summer furniture, mining gallery. One of the residents of the house was typographer Joerges that there had also set up a workshop. The actress Emília Vášárová, significant member of the Slovak National Theatre, was born here. Although the building is situated in the center of the action, thanks to its thick walls ensures its clients a quiet peaceful environment.
Near the house is located in the central square the sculpture of the Holy Trinity, St. Catherine's Church, Jozef Kollár Gallery. During the tourist season are held here cultural events - live chess, Salamander parade and other activities related to mining, which accounts for a significant part of the history of the city. Other landmarks such as Old Castle, New Castle, Calvary are located only few minutes walking distance. In the vicinity of Banská Štiavnica is the amount of artificial lakes suitable for summer recreation, hunting castle in Saint Anton, mining museum, spa Vyhne and Sklené Teplice. The town is surrounded by beatiful nature of Štiavnické hills.
Our company is a family business, which already devote twenty years of building renovations Joergesov dom with the respect for old technologies to preserve the authenticity of the property for future generations. In addition, the international oldtimer rallye Silver Veteran Rallye, through which we promote oldtimer movement in Slovakia as well as the actual town of Banská Štiavnica.
