I am a retired engineer with a passion for travel. I’ve journeyed extensively and lived in Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia. Born and raised in China, I was educated in both China and the United States and built my career in the U.S. Over the years, I’ve visited approximately 40 countries and lived for more than six months each in China, the U.S., the U.K., Finland, Venezuela, and Nigeria. The most awe-inspiring trip I’ve taken was to Ushuaia, Argentina, while my most adventurous experience was surviving solo in the Namib Desert, Namibia. For ultimate relaxation, nothing compares to Los Roques Archipelago in Venezuela. And without a doubt, the friendliest people I’ve encountered are the Thais. When I traveled to Thailand, I immediately fell in love with the country, especially Chiang Mai, for its unique culture, rich history, and slow-paced lifestyle. I decided to choose Chiang Mai as my alternative home city.
