During the recent pandemic we totally rebuilt Baan Rim Nam guesthouse. The old wooden fisherman's houses have been replaced by two far more comfortable modern, concrete stilt houses comprises two renovated wooden fisherman's houses. We're located on the Klong Prao river estuary on the West coast of the island. A peaceful spot that most visitors to Koh Chang don't see. You can walk 150m through the coconut field to the beach - which is the quietest on this side of the island. Or paddle a canoe 300m down the river. ( We also have sea kayaks and SUP boards for our guests to use free of charge) Our new guesthouse has all the comforts of home - from King size beds to TVs with Netflix and high speed wifi for anyone who needs to work whilst travelling. The spacious wooden riverside deck makes an ideal spot to watch river life. You'll see plenty of birds, paddle boarders and some local fishermen. Please note, if you want to party, then this isn't the place for you. There are a couple of restaurants on the river and also on the nearby beach. The local village is around 15 minutes walk away. Here you'll find minimarts, cheap Thai street food plus some excellent western food. Plus banks / ATM / bakery / laundry etc
Hi there. My name's Ian. Myself and partner 'Mam' have had this guesthouse since 2004. It's in a quiet spot near Klong Prao beach. But although we're ideally located in the middle of the west coast, the beach never gets busy and there's usually very little noise. You won't hear any traffic. Although the cicadas and birds can be raucous at times. Thanks to our guests, we have been voted one of the 'Top 25 B&Bs in Thailand' and are highly rated on this site and Tripadvisor. I'm also the Tripadvisor Destination Expert for Koh Chang and run a few of websites about the island. Including iamkohchang-dot-com which you'll have probably found when searching for information about Koh Chang.
