“It would be great to know more about the area, any local events, nearby shops and restaurants, and what there is for my kids to do. Also how safe is it?” The area is actually right downtown Bangkok, described uniquely as Thai/Chinese type of style. Almost like China Town. Just a 10 mins walk, it is a electric subway mass transit. A further 10 mins will be a very big busy fresh market, and night market, plus many local as well as international restaurants. There are big several big hypermarket/supermarkets around less than a 10 mins drive (taxi). A number of taxis can be reached, except for some rush hours. Kids can enjoy games, bowling, and cinemas, at malls wihin some 20 mins drive. It is very safe at the house. Never had any problems in the past 25 years. There are a few small friendly dogs who serve as strong security guards. Enjoy.
