The surrounding area is lovely. Lots of nice restaurants, I recommend KoDam Kitchen, Carnivore, and Umberto's, all within 2 - 5 min walk away. Many bars with live music and nightclub on Aonang Beach road. Aonang is also the perfect location for travelling to nearby beaches (Pranang beach is the best, just a short walk from Railay beach), islands (You must go to Hong Island, I can advise how best to get there), trekking (Dragon Crest Rock is a must if you can manage the hike), Tiger Temple (1200 steps :) ), and some of the best rock climbing in the world. Note - the locations mentioned above are shown in the listing photos. The best way to get around is by scooter. You can rent from one from one of the nearby bike rental shops. However, it is only a short walk to the beach and taxis are abundant. If required you can ask at the staff at the lobby and they will organise anything for you, including taxis. If you rent a car there is private parking on the ground floor subject to availability.
