Our teakwood house is set on a large private estate next to Doi Luang National Park, just 1.5 km from the hot springs, with a spectacular mountain view. Surrounded by bamboo and teak forest, it offers a peaceful, safe atmosphere filled with birdsong and the sounds of nature. Though immersed in nature, it’s just 3 km from the village. A perfect place to relax, reconnect, and enjoy Chiang Dao’s natural beauty. If you're looking for charm and authenticity, you've come to the right place. We built this house ourselves using materials from old traditional homes in the region. We've preserved the original northern Thai (Lanna) style while adapting it to modern comforts—without losing its soul. The house is set on a lush property surrounded by nature: a small bamboo forest, a teak grove, and fruit trees like longan, mango, pomelo, and lychee. The best part? You can enjoy all of it from the comfort of the house. There’s also a sala with a raised platform, perfect for relaxing, reading a book, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere among the trees. My own house is on the same property, but completely private—you won’t see it from the guest house. The house is elevated on stilts, with both bedrooms located upstairs. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed. One of them also includes a desk. With many doors and windows, the space feels open and airy—almost transparent when fully opened. Upstairs you’ll also find the bathroom with a hot water shower, a small back terrace, and a large front terrace that acts as the living room, perfect for enjoying the fresh air and the view of the garden and surrounding greenery. Downstairs, there’s a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious dining area with a large table—ideal for long meals or working in peace
Hello my name is Pupe, I am a Thai and my husband is Spanish. I live between Bangkok and Chiang Dao I love travel, decoration, fashion, plants and antiques. I can speak Thai, English and Spanish.
Chiang Dao is a hidden gem for those seeking untouched nature, peace, and authentic northern Thai charm. Our house is located right next to the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area at the foot of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. From here, you can explore jungle trails, watch rare birds (this area is a favorite among birdwatchers), or simply breathe in the fresh mountain air surrounded by bamboo and forest. Just minutes away, you’ll also find natural hot springs, perfect for soaking and relaxing after a hike. Nearby attractions include the mystical Chiang Dao Cave and the serene mountaintop temple Wat Tham Pha Plong, reached via a staircase winding through the forest. In the village, you’ll find local restaurants, cafés with mountain views, and small rural markets that offer a glimpse into everyday life in northern Thailand. Chiang Dao is not a place for mass tourism. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the peaceful beauty of a Thailand few travelers get to see. It is very convenient to have a vehicle to move around Chiang Dao. You can rent a motorcycle in Chiang Dao or you can ren in Chiang Mai and come from there with it, there are 70 kilometers of good road. To get from Chiang Mai to Chiang Dao, you can take a bus from the Chang Puak Bus Station in Chiang Mai, you have bus every hour from 6 am to 5 pm. The journey takes about an hour and a half and the scenery along the way is beautiful. When you arriving, the easy way is tell the bus to stop in "bus stop" not in "bus station" there you can get a taxi to come to my house. The cost is 150 bath.
