Welcome to Tamu House! The word “Tamu” comes from Swahili, Tanzania’s national language, and means “sweet, charming, cozy.” Our accommodation is a lovingly designed and well-maintained retreat with a small garden for relaxation. We are especially proud of the artwork displayed throughout the house, created for us by a very talented local artist. Our manager, Hilda, is known for her warm, helpful, and friendly manner. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our “sweet home.”

Just a few steps away, one of the island’s most beautiful beaches awaits you: powder-white sand, turquoise waters, and perfect conditions for kitesurfing. In the neighborhood, you’ll find trendy cafés, cozy restaurants, beach bars, and local shops that give Paje its vibrant, international character. Only a few minutes away by car, there are many tourist highlights such as the monkeys in Jozani Forest, the turtles in Kizimkazi, and the famous restaurant The Rock. And of course, depending on your personal preferences, we’re happy to provide tips for many other places worth visiting.
