This lovely cottage is one of the 5 grass-thatched houses situated on the hilltops Lake Nyamirima. Situated on the edge of one of the crater lakes of the country's tourism city: Fort Portal, Lake Nyamirima Cottages is one of the newest eco-lodge in Western Uganda. Staying with your Ugandan host family of secondary school teachers, you will find yourself immersed by the warmth of African hospitality, alongside the serene natural beauty of a private forest and the exotic tropical soundscape of monkeys and birds that comes with it!
We are a family of secondary school teachers and we like to show you the beauty of our country through our hospitality, food and our lovely cottages. If we are in the property, we will say hello and gladly assist you with any question or help you may need around the local area - be it about the food, the destinations or activities you can enjoy that are easily accessible by walking.
We are located 18 kms from Fort Portal town centre, tucked in a small village of fishermen and farmers. Kibale National Park is only 3 kms away and it is know for chimpanzees and a wide variety of bird species. There is a small central market in between the local villages around the property and can be reached by foot.
