Welcome to Poinsettia Place! I’m so happy to have you here in my gorgeous hometown of Fort Myers. As a travel writer & chef I have traveled the world far and wide and nothing quite feels like downtown Fort Myers. The River District has a rich history with Ponce de Leon, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and many other affluent individuals that have shaped our history. Their influences on this area, that they all fell in love with, are prevalent and so unique. The majority of downtown is historical buildings that have been kept alive with much love and preservation over the years. Each building is unique and has a story to tell and I always feel invigorated walking around and explaining the history of this city. There are different areas to explore- from the historic palm tree lined street of McGregor, the gorgeous yacht basin & Luminary hotel area, lively first street, artsy Gardners Park, and quaint Dean Park- all offer a unique feel and vibe. Within walking or biking distance you will discover great restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping, art, and so much history. Within driving distance you have Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva, and Naples! All offer different, yet amazing day trips. Gorgeous historic area of Downtown Fort Myers walking distance to everything! There is free parking for 2 cars on property. Once you have parked you can walk to just about anywhere!
