We've created a space that we had a lot of trouble finding ourselves when traveling - somewhere both family AND pet-friendly. With 3 dogs of our own, we understand how hard it can be to find getaways for our pups too so we decided to make one! You'll find the house is outfitted for both two and four-legged babies. Eldred is a small town rich with natural beauty and activities, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and families: - Hiking and Biking Trails: Explore local trails which are suitable for all ages. The terrain is generally easy to moderate, perfect for family or group excursions - River Activities: The Delaware River offers opportunities for gentle rafting or tubing - Fishing and Boating: Highland Lake, Lake Superior State Park, and various smaller lakes nearby offer freshwater fishing, boating, and picnic areas - Eagle Watching: During the winter months, Eldred becomes a prime spot for eagle watching with several eagle observation areas are set up along the river - Berry Picking and Farm Visits: Seasonal berry picking and visits to local farms - Big Bear Ski Mountain is open! Fantastic skiing and snowboarding on a small, local mountain for all the snowy fun Bringing or renting a car is highly recommended as Uber, Lyft and Taxi service in the area can be extremely limited.
