You can visit the beach at Lake Charlevoix (Young State Park, Peninsula Beach and Tannery Beach are closest), downtown shops and restaurants, and access the hiking/biking trails at Avalanche Preserve (ice skating & sledding in the winter). Downtown Boyne City is always bustling with live music on Fridays during the summer, Farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and plenty of events and festivals throughout the year. Let the kids play at Veterans Park, catch a sunset at Sunset park, and watch the boats come and go in the Boyne City Marina. Notable day trips include Charlevoix and Petoskey (approx 20 min each), Mackinac Bridge (approx 1 hr), and Traverse City (approx 90 min). Boyne Mountain Resort is just 10 minutes away and offers something for everyone in every season: hiking/biking, watersports, paintball, zip lines and championship golf, scenic chairlift rides, skiing, snowboarding, Sno-Go Biking, Fat Tire Snow biking, ice skating, snow tubing, snow shoeing.
