This hideaway is in midst the Anza Borrego Desert State Park and has a private access to the Pacific Crest Hiking Trail. Granite Mountain is right behind the property and if you like night sky photography this is the place to catch the Milky way in all it's glory. The interior is dedicated to the American Indian flute player Kokopelli - southwest furniture complements hand painted murals in the bathroom transporting you to Cancun and the hand painted tiles adorn the whole kitchen. The king size bed invites to lounge and watch one of the over 1000 movies or you could sit on the patio and listen to Beethoven coming from a 33 LP. Books in 3 languages are here for you to peruse; you might just try to listen to the birds or paint a watercolor of the native landscape. Writers find a comfortable desk to set their laptop and let the environment inspire a new take on a story. Couples love to celebrate their anniversaries here because we furnish the champagne and if you come around the holidays you might catch a few cookies fresh out of the oven. The kitchen is fully outfitted and you might whip up a special dinner or go one of the restaurants in the area.

Kokopelli's Hideaway is just what the name suggests: hidden away from traffic, noise and people its setting is rural and natural. The State Park surrounding the place brings all types of wildlife; you will hear coyotes, spot an eagle, see a hawk catch dinner and watch an occasional snake bask in the sun. The vegetation is typical for the High Chaparral of this region, featuring century old juniper, creosote bushes and various trees. Mainly the cactus and Ocotillos point to the desert aspect of this area, while the sandy soil allows for growing only a few but hardy species of plants. The annual wildflower show the desert puts on is a sight to behold. The Park Headquarters put out a map to catch the most stunning patches of the painted desert. There are many hiking trails for the beginner, intermediate and advanced hiker to enjoy, from 1-2 miles to 10+ miles in length. The valley is surrounded by mountains, which provide the backdrop for the mist spectacular 180 degree rainbows at the hint of a raindrop. This is a rural setting with the city within a few miles but far enough away to bring quiet, relaxation and seemingly endless freedom.
