We enjoy meeting the people who stay at Whistler's Inn most of all. Many guests return year after year, and we love to catch up with old friends as well as to make new friends. We enjoy cooking a buffet breakfast each morning, many times with an international theme. As a pastime, we enjoy hiking through the forest (across the street from Whistler's Inn) in Kennedy Park, or at the Pleasant Valley Sanctuary up the road. It is fun to kayak or swim in the majestic lakes that are located nearby. Biking in the scenic Berkshires is an unforgettable experience. The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail is the perfect place to experience nature on a bicycle. We enjoy the local world-class restaurants, knowing that much of the produce is grown locally, and many of meat products are local too.

Whistler's Inn is unique in that it has historical significance. It was owned by the nephew of the famous artist, James McNeil Whistler. The mansion was one of the first English Tudor mansions built in New England. The decor is reminiscent of "Downton Abbey," decorated with antiques, surrounded by gardens and directly across the street from the famous "Church on the Hill" and Kennedy Park, the inn is only two blocks from Lenox village and close to all cultural venues. Whistler's Inn is the perfect place to meet people from all over the world. Interesting conversations always take place around the dining table at breakfast. Guests enjoy sipping sherry or tea as they peruse the extensive library or play the Steinway piano in the music room. Stepping through the French doors of the library, guests relax on the sun-filled terrace, which is bordered by perennial gardens and wisteria. Our springtime guests are greeted with the spectacular view from the terrace of rhododendrons that are thirty feet high. Ancient spruce trees and fern gardens dominate the grounds. Note: Whistler's Inn does have some restrictive policies. We ask that young children be monitored and well behaved. Children must not run around in the common rooms. Also, we have a dog policy. Dogs are only allowed to stay in specified guest rooms. They are not allowed to roam around our common rooms. Also, there is a fee for each dog. Guests must call the hotel to inquire about our dog policy.

Our neighborhood is quiet, and it is located close to the most significant tourist destinations in the Berkshires. We enjoy visiting the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Berkshire Museum, and the Clark Museum, as well as Mass Moca. Jacob's Pillow is an amazing Dance Festival that is always a fun place where one can see dance from all over the world. Shakespeare and Company is right down the street, and the performances are amazing! Third Thursday is an event that takes place in Pittsfield every third week of the month. North Street is blocked off, and people get to taste food from local vendors, listen to music, meet friends and have a great time! Lee also has an event which is called Founder's Weekend. This is when the local Latin community has a grand fiesta with music and dance. There is an antique auto show, parades and more. The Shaker Village is a wonderful place to visit where one can learn about Shaker history, as well as their arts and crafts. One can see live baby farm animals that are raised there. There is also a Pow Wow each summer in nearby Adams with native American Indians.
