The cottage features three comfortable bedrooms – one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one with twin beds – as well as a full bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy the warm living area with TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and heating, ensuring year-round comfort. Outside, guests can easily access Baxter State Park, Mount Katahdin, and local ATV, canoe, and snowmobile rentals for a true Maine experience. Hunters are welcome too! In the nearby town, additional dining options include Brookside Restaurant and a restaurant located at the gas station at the town’s entrance. For great food, golf, and live music, the popular Slice Restaurant & Golf Course is just a short drive away. Outdoor lovers will appreciate that an ATV trail is only 50 yards from the house, and the town boat access to the Mattawamkeag River is just 1/4 mile down the road. Within five miles, guests can enjoy three beautiful lakes with public boat launches, perfect for fishing—especially for landlocked salmon—kayaking, or swimming. Nature enthusiasts will love being close to Baxter State Park, known for its breathtaking wilderness ponds, leaf-peeping, hiking, mountain climbing, and canoe or kayak rentals for only one dollar an hour. For a memorable day trip, Acadia National Park is about a 2¼-hour drive, offering beaches, ocean excursions, and guided tours through historic Frenchman’s Bay. The town of Island Falls owns large areas of forest land and allows free hunting, making it a great base for sportsmen.
