The McKinley Edwards Inn, formerly the Old Charleston Inn, was converted to an inn in the late 1990's. It has changed hands many times and has been shuttered a few times in the past. The current owners have had the property since April of 2017 and have made many improvements and changes to the inn. Our goal is to make each and every client feel comfortable and "at home" in the inn. We are a place where you can bring your family and share memories as well as make new ones.

The historic McKinley Edwards Inn is located atop a hill in a quiet area just five minutes from the Great Smoky Mountain train station. The property is beautifully landscaped and offers many comfortable common areas for you to relax and enjoy your time. The rooms were originally Bryson City's first apartment buildings built in the 1940's. Each room is uniquely furnished, has a private bath, mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There is Direct TV in the rooms for your enjoyment. The inn serves a ample Continental breakfast each morning for our guests. Please note there is not an elevator to access the second and third floor rooms. If you have mobility issues, please contact us to check on lower floor availability.

The inn is only a 1 mile from town where you can find shopping, breweries, restaurants, an aquarium, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad and much more. Stop in one of the chocolate shops for some delicious treats or in one of the breweries for a flight of craft beers. During the summer you can hike, raft, tube, kayak, bike or just take in the splendor of the mountains. There is a casino only 12 miles away with gaming tables, live shows and a bowling alley for the family.
