Micosta Enterprises was formed in 1995 with a focus on agriculture and agricultural products. There has always been a priority to use local produce and tie to the community as closely as possible. The owner has won numerous awards for excellence in production agriculture and education in agriculture. He still gives courses in fruit and vegetable production as well as ornamental horticulture. You might even tie your visit with attendance of one of the informative courses.

The property is located on Claverack creek about eight minutes from Hudson, NY. It is a forested area with numerous birds and abundant wildlife such as deer, raccoons, beaver, and foxes. The property is four acres with more than 500 feet of river frontage. The original house is more than 130 years old, but has been remodeled to add a small commercial kitchen and restaurant as well as the rental rooms. The site is conveniently located and easy to get to. The restaurant is open for Sunday brunch from 10 am to 3 pm It includes a beverage, cheeses, salads, entrees, desserts and beverages. Dinner by reservation can be requested when available all inclusive. Micosta-produced fruits, vegetables, eggs and honey are used in the restaurant. Vegan and ovo-lacto vegetarian options are available.

The neighborhood is rural and the population density is light. Roads are well maintained, and shopping (Shoprite, Walmart, Aldi) is close by. There are scenic trails to enjoy natural beauty, and other local features such as Olana State Park, Art Omi, Clermont State Historic Site, Columbia County Fairgrounds, Hudson Athens Lighthouse, Shaker Museum, Luykas Van Alen House, Lebanon Valley Dragway, MacHaydn Theater, or the President Martin Van Buren home.
