This perfectly situated property is located right in the middle of all that's cool about Houston's greatest neighborhood, Montrose. As you pull into our private parking lot you will see your Unit #1 or #2 parking sign straight ahead.
Our property is well lit in the parking area. We have more cozy lighting in our courtyard/patio area. Many guests like to dine out here al fresco style. Your unit is located on the bottom floor on your left as you walk into the courtyard.
This is a very friendly small 6-plex. Every single long-term tenant is super friendly. This makes it VERY safe. The coin laundry room is literally 4 steps from your front door. So convenient!
The apartments themselves are very well stocked with anything you may need. Forgot your toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.-we have it! We also stock Bath & Body Works bath essentials for you to use too!
We didn't forget the picnic baskets and blankets for the many nearby parks that are 1 block away. It is a wonderful way to relax and no other neighborhood has this amazing amenity. Our kitchens are also fully stocked with all you'll need to cook a great meal after getting your groceries only a half block away at HEB Grocery. We do provide a variety coffee pods, teas, snacks, and bottled water in the fridge for you.
Most of our reviews talk about how very clean the units are. We take cleaning very seriously at Montrose Stays. We even steam the floors once per week to deeply sanitize and use an ozone machine between stays.
Also mentioned in our reviews are our cozy beds. Both units have a hybrid mattress with individually wrapped coils topped with cooling memory foam inside the mattress. All pillows and the bed have hypoallergenic and waterproof mattress covers. We only use bed sheets with a thread count above 300. The beds are made with 6 pillows giving you pillow options of a large firm king, flattish pillow, and a fluffy down pillow. No need to bring your own pillow.
We look forward to your stay!
I am a native Houstonian so I naturally have a love for my city. I grew up around real estate and worked in hospitality most of my career. Growing up my stepfather owned several properties within the Montrose area of Houston. Around 14 years old he had me painting entire apartments in the hot July heat - with no a/c; I guess it builds character! As I grew older my chores with the properties grew larger to replacing fences, installing fans, replacing outlets, etc. After years of being around the real estate business I naturally learned a lot about it. I love hosting because it brings my 2 loves and years of experience together. I never feel like it's a job. It's a passion of mine and this sets me and my rentals apart from the others.
I have been a Host since 2015. I've made many friends and had some amazing conversations with guests from all over the globe.
My goal is to continue to grow my short term rental business slowly so not to overlook anything important that sets me apart. I plan to grow into more cities within TX. My next adventure will be to put some small houses on some of my land in East TX. Guests will have over 95 acres to play in or just have solitude. Then I'll add an outdoor event venue across the dirt road. I have even begun helping others open their own STR and how-to videos on YouTube to show that anyone can do things like fixing holes in walls, replacing ceiling fans, repouring a bathtub, and epoxy an old countertop to make it a focal point in their unit. & saves money. I really enjoy mentoring others because I hate to see so many STR go out of business because they started too big or thought renting an apt with granite counters and stainless appliances were more important than the bottom line. I plan to begin putting together a workshop with workbooks to help others achieve their goals in STR. I started with 1,000 dollars and a 285sqft space and we were booked almost every night! That space is what I am most proud of because it was my 1st.
This perfectly situated property is located right in the middle of all that's cool about the neighborhood of Montrose. The property is surrounded by some amazing green space parks that will have live music shows on weekends (don't forget the blanket in the closet) in front of the Menil museum. This museum is known all over the world. In fact you may cross paths with an artist staying in our other unit there. This is a very artsy neighborhood everywhere you look, from the museums, side of buildings, stores, and even its people you'll see walking around. Again, this is a very walkable neighborhood. Almost forgot - the property is just one half of a block away - HEB. Best grocery store in TX!
I do try to keep an updated simple "things to do" folder in the unit for guests. Nothing fancy but plenty to give you a good idea of something fun to do to the history of the neighborhood.
Close to: downtown, museums, Texas Medical Center, University of Houston, Texas Southern University, St. Thomas University, all professional ball venues, cool shopping, some of the best hair salons, the best restaurants in all of town, and upbeat to relaxing bars. We are so incredibly close to the Texas Medical Center. I will also have a list of those for you as well.
Most hospitals are only 1.7 miles-3.0 miles away. This all less than an 8-13 min drive from the property!
As for Universities, it ranges from 0.5 miles-4.9 miles. We are native Houstonians so we usually know the location questions to most of your inquiries.
Or just take a walk and enjoy some of the original 1900/1925 homes that still reside in Montrose. I'm proud of Houston history
