Welcome to the Cottages in the Shenandoah. We are located at the gateway to Skyline Drive and the Shenandoah. Old Rag (a favorite hike) is within 15 minutes of the Cottage. Enjoy a simple breakfast at the Cottage. Wildlife is abundant and rest and relaxation are our primary goals. Let us make your next get away a true respite from reality.

Mike and Cheryl Johnson have traveled a bit in their lifetime. They love to hear about your experiences and learn more about all the great places there are to visit. We are varied in our interests but mostly just want to learn more about you and all the fun things you have done in your life.

Here are answers to some common questions about the property. The property is located within a 20-minute drive to the Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are lots of hiking trails with Old Rag being the nearby favorite. If history is your thing, we are within a 30-minute drive to Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home ) and Montpelier (James Madison's home). There is plenty of hiking, fishing, rock climbing, and rafting in the area if you are an outdoor enthusiast. Local wineries and breweries offer a nice respite with lots of tasty treats for your pallet. For the shopping enthusiast, there are several antique shops with loads of items with an old-time flair. There are youth and children activities at Massanutten and Luray Caverns. Both are roughly one hour from the cottage. Come join us and take a break from reality!
